Over 50 nations have hosted performances by the mesmerising and powerful Japanese Taiko Drummers, who have been travelling the world for 20 years. Since its inception in 1993, this high-intensity, explosive event has left more than 5 million audience members of all ages gasping for air and ecstatic.
The group performs an amazing exhibition of skill and athleticism that has been seen all over the world at concerts, corporate events, classrooms, and school assemblies. They take the traditional Japanese art of taiko drumming and bring it bang up to current.
Taiko drumming is both a physical and a musical spectacle because the drums may be up to six feet broad and are quite physically demanding to play. Over 20 drums, ranging from enormous Odaikos that resemble barrels to hand-held instruments, are used by the Japanese Drummers to display their astounding skill.
They provide a kaleidoscope of sound when combined with fine bronze cymbals, vocalists, and bamboo flutes.
