Oxford's top all-male a cappella group is called This Male A Cappella Group.
Since 2000, the ensemble has had success on a global scale, performing for schoolchildren, presidents, and everyone in between in countries including Spain, Scandinavia, Japan, Hong Kong, and the USA.
The men perform at a variety of events throughout the UK, including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the biggest arts festival in the world, where they have five times won the Fringe sell-out prize and received praise from both critics and the general public.
The A Capella trio made it to the live semifinals of the well-known talent competition Britain's Got Talent in 2011, where they were showcased on public television and even garnered acclaim from Simon Cowell!
Each year, the group delivers dozens of school programmes around the US and the UK. Every time they perform on stage, they wish to share their excitement with the audience by inspiring in them a spirit of bravery and adventure when it comes to singing and engaging with music.
The organisation has funded Helen and Douglas House since 2006; it is an Oxford-based charity that was founded in 1982 as the first hospice for kids with terminal illnesses. The Male A Capella group raises money for the charity every year by performing with well-known British comedians in front of thousands of fans. The group also solicits donations for the cause at all of its public performances in the UK.
Hold onto your seats because this is a cappella like you've never heard it before! Their excitement and musicality are contagious. Some of our a cappella musicians can also provide a more specialised repertoire and a smaller act.
