Sherrita has the ability to be versatile in many different styles, including Gospel, Pop, Jazz, Dance, Musical Theater, and Opera, thanks to her rich, colourful voice, sensitivity, and technique.
She started her professional singing career at the Pasadena Performing Arts Center and performed in "Hope of the Heart" at the Mark Taper Forum and "Orpheus in the Underworld" at the Los Angeles Opera (Dorothy Chandler Pavilion). She also participated in concert tours across Europe during this time with the Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers, a renowned choir known for its performances of gospel and African-American spirituals.
Sherrita made the decision to relocate to Italy after spending a long time in New York, where she has continued to sing professionally in genres like gospel, pop, jazz, dance, musical theatre, and opera. She has performed at prestigious music festivals, including the Varese Black and Blues Festival and the Legnago Gospel Festival, that feature gospel, jazz, and blues music.
As one of the three operatic sopranos in the operatic-rock musical "Notorius," she has performed in a number of opera houses in Northern Italy, including the Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo, the Teatro Fraschini di Pavia, and the Teatro Coccia di Novara.
She has worked with a number of well-known Italian DJs, including DJ Molella, Paolo Ortelli, DJ Tato, and Samuele Sartini, to record dance singles, including covers of Alicia Keys' "No One" and I Will Survive. She also contributed to the song "Segui la stella" from Mondo Marcio's 2006 hit album, "Dentro la scatola." She has performed on television in shows like "Sei un mito," in which she energetically imitated Tina Turner, "I raccomandati," in which she sang a medley with her friend Carol Alt, and "Tutte le mattine," on which she performed the Gershwin classic "Summertime," accompanied by Demo Morselli's orchestra.
