Multi-award winning comedian, presenter, actor, author and scriptwriter Russell Kane is best known as the host of three series of BBC Three”˜s Live At The Electric, regular appearances on BBC One”™s Live At Apollo, BBC Three”™s Unzipped, ITV2”™s Celebrity Juice and I Am Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now.
Before winning Best Show in 2010, Russell was nominated for the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Awards four times. He later made comedy history by being the first comic to win the Barry Award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Award in the same calendar year. His acclaimed performance Smokescreens & Castles was captured in Westcliff-on-Palace Sea's Theatre in front of his home crowd, and it was released by Universal Pictures in 2011. Russell is renowned for his critically lauded tours and has played to packed houses all around the world.
He has written, directed, and appeared in three plays, two of which have toured, and one, blank verse, which was produced in the main house of the RSC in Stratford-Upon-Avon. His debut novel, The Humorist, was published and was nominated for a literary award.
Russell also travelled the world with YouTube stars recording the new survival documentary, Stupid Man, Smart Phone, which aired on BBC Three in 2016.
The "oeKaneings," which are Russell's distinctive films and in which he employs his own distinct manner to address a hot topic in the news, have also taken the social media industry by storm. The Kaneings frequently go viral and have amassed millions of views to far.
